Back Again
We are all back in Monterrey again after a week of traveling. I greatly enjoyed the class at NBBC. I think it was the best class I have taken in the DSM program so far. The topic was preaching from the Old Testament. The teachers were Drs. Sam Horn and Mark Minnick. Their experience, knowledge and Word-focus was a great challenge to me. Their example certainly inspired me to continue striving to be the best man and the best preacher I can be.
Please continue to pray for Mrs. Horn. As you most of you know, she is in the middle of a life-and-death struggle with cancer. Although things seem to be better than the doctors expected, she is still facing a long and difficult battle against cancer. It was great to see their attitude in the face of such an incredible trial.
Today we are going to look at a large piece of property that is for sale in the Monterrey metro area. Continue to pray for the University's future. There are many exciting things in progress: the search for property (and funds!), a possible masters in education, etc. We are in the midst of planning these things and other projects for the next school year. Pray that we will do our part, and we trust that God will bring the right number and quality of students for our next school year.
BTW, we got our visas finally. Susan was planning on going up to McAllen, Texas, on Wednesday. That way she could see some friends, do a little shopping, and pick me up on Friday. We really needed our paperwork by then so that we could register our van again. On Monday, when she called, they told her the weren't ready. So I suggested that she go down there and very nicely tell them that she wasn't going to leave until she had the papers (after all, it had been more than three months for a process that should only take 30 days!). When she got there, they told her that they still weren't ready. Susan asked them to go check on them. Apparently they were ready and were just sitting on somebody's desk. There is no telling how long they were ready! Praise the Lord that we were able to get them by the time we really, really needed them. God is good.
